A conference within the framework of Act Now project co-financed by Youth in Action Programme, Action 3.2 Youth in the World: Cooperation with countries other than the neighbouring countries of the European Union, Call for Proposals EACEA/11/10

• Represent an organization/institution that has an interest in EVS (European Voluntary Service) as a tool for promoting active citizenship, local democracy, community youth development, enhancing international cooperation and dialogue and social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.
• Belong to at least one of the categories of disadvantaged described below

Context: theconference is part of Act Now project – Active Citizenship through New Opportunities Worldwide - a networking project that aims at developing thematic clusters of excellence in EVS, sharing best practice in youth work and needs analysis in terms of capacity to handle and manage EVS projects that brings the European, global, national and local dimension together. The project is implemented by the Regional Association for Rural Development (Romania) with the common effort of six other organizations from Sweden, UK, Cameroon, Sierra Leon, Peru and Argentina.

Concept: the conference is designed as a forum that brings together representatives of youth civil society within the frame of a transcontinental cooperation, European donors and decision makers, and stakeholders that have an impact on youth education policies, youth affairs and transcontinental cooperation, to advocate for the need for substantial involvement from EU donors, organizations in prompting youth civil society development in Africa and Latin America.

Objectives:

• to bring to the fora the need for substantial involvement from EU donors, organizations in prompting youth civil society development in Africa and Latin America
• launch the EVS Country Reports
• to constitute officially the Youth Empowerment Network
• to launch a membership call for the enlargement of the Youth Empowerment Network
